Our story

How it began

The idea was born years ago out of my carpentry school final project: A full-sized wooden bed made without a single nail, screw or bolt, held together by a type of dovetail joint. The end result resembled a wooden puzzle, completely seamless, locked-in by the last piece put to place.

At the time, my furniture was mostly the usual Ikea-type, complicated to assemble. I, on the other hand, had managed to make something that could be taken apart and reassembled over and over again without tools. After a move or two, with the bed following from one home to another, I started to realise that I had solved an issue or two as a byproduct.

As the bed could easily be taken apart, it was easy to move even through tight spaces such as doorways, hallways, and elevators. If the concept could be applied to other constructs
big in size, often on the move, or only in need occasionally, there was a bigger value to be found as savings in transportation, storage, and even manpower needed. The idea could benefit various industries in addition to carpentry.

I wanted to create something that could be easily produced without compromising functionality or durability. Something that would stand the test of time. So I began to sketch a mechanical joint that could be easily installed to structures of various kinds, with the joint itself completely hidden and the end product seamless.

If functioning, I knew I was on to something. It was time to gather a team to take it to the finish line.
